Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Mitchell Starc returned to his best with the ball in the ongoing game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The 28th game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Mitchell Starc started scratchy with the ball but he made sure that he ended the innings on the high. The fast bowler slowly got into his rhythm and made sure that he oozed his class with the ball showing why he was paid such a big amount of money for his services in the league.
Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc across the Lucknow Super Giants batting lineup in the last over of the innings at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Of all, the wicket of Arshad Khan caught the attention of many. The fast bowler produced a stellar ball to cut short the stay of LSG batter.
On the last ball of the over, Mitchell Starc bowled a yorker length on and around off stump. Arshad Khan tried to hit it straight but he failed to get under it. The ball which was paced at 142kmph, went on to crash into the base of off stump at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Arshad Khan, who came in as an impact player for Lucknow Super Giants, couldn’t make much impact with the bat as he scored just 5 runs off 4 balls. He slammed one-fourth in his innings and his wicket saw Kolkata Knight Riders restricting the opposition to a total of 161 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Lucknow Super Giants didn’t have a great outing with the bat as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were under pressure. Skipper KL Rahul played a valiant innings of 39 runs while Nicholas Pooran (45) was the top run-getter for the team. Ayush Badoni (20) also made a handy contribution.
For Kolkata Knight Riders, Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers. The lanky fast bowler returned with the figures of 3/28. Apart from him, Sunil Narine, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakravarty and Andre Russell picked one wicket each for their team.

Mitchell Starc opened up about his performance with the ball in the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL. He stated that he needed time to get used to the conditions and spoke about his plans while bowling at Eden Gardens. He added:
“Always nice to contribute. We were pretty good throughout the innings. Day game so it was warmer than the last time we played here. Took some time getting used to. The wicket was probably a little two-paced.
“Sunil was fantastic through the middle. All our bowlers chipped in with the ball. Part of my role is to swing that ball, and I look to pitch it up and swing it. But on that wicket had to pull the length back.”
Kolkata Knight Riders would be confident about winning the game and extending their dominance in the league.
