The Galaxy A54 5G is followed by Samsung’s new star for the midrange, the Galaxy A55 5G. In addition to the usual small improvements, the design also gets a visible update, and Samsung is also generous with the choice of materials.
The Galaxy A55 is available in two storage versions: 128 GB and 256 GB. With an MSRP of 479 and 529 Euros (~$516 and $569) respectively, it even costs 10 Euros (~$11) less than its predecessor.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is available in four colors: Awesome Iceblue, Lilac, Lemon, and Navy. The thickness is listed as 8.2 mm (~0.323 in), and we measure 8.25 mm (~0.325 in). The three camera lenses, which are arranged like those in the Galaxy S24, stick out by an additional 2.15 mm (~0.08 in). So if you place the smartphone on a flat surface, it can wobble quite a bit.
The Samsung smartphone shows clean workmanship. The gaps are tight and even, and it endures our attempts of warping the case without producing any creaking noises. Even though the display-to-surface ratio has improved (86%; A54: 83%), it is still rather antiquated. The frame of the A55 is now completely made of brushed aluminum and looks really attractive. In addition, the front and back are now covered by Corning Gorilla Glas Victus+.
The Galaxy A55 is protected from dust and water according to the IP67 certification. The card slot is flush with the frame, with the plastic tray being able to accept either two Nano SIM cards or a microSD instead of the second SIM card.
Samsung doesn’t provide as much information on the sustainability as with its premium products, and the manufacturer also continues its bad habit of wrapping the smartphone in an additional plastic foil.
